Honolulu, Hawaii - Tamayo Perry, a 49-year-old surfer and lifeguard known for his appearances in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, has tragically passed away after being attacked by a shark.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on the East Side of Oahu. Perry was reportedly surfing when he was suddenly attacked. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

Perry was a well-known figure in the North Shore surfing community. He was also an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety, where he served as a lifeguard.

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi expressed his condolences to Perry's family and friends. "Tamayo was a beloved member of our community, and his loss will be deeply felt," said Blangiardi.

Perry's death serves as a reminder of the dangers that surfers and other water enthusiasts can face in Hawaii's waters.
